BELGRADE – US Secretary of State John Kerry pointed in Belgrade on Thursday to the need to use some kind of Syrian or Arab land forces to fight the Islamic State.
Extremists cannot be defeated with air strikes alone, he said.
I think that we know that, if we do not manage to find land forces that are prepared to confront Daesh, we will not win this battle with air strikes alone, Kerry said at the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting in Belgrade.
There are no negotiations with terrorists, Kerry said explicitly, calling for resolve in the intent to defeat terrorist groups.
There are no negotiations with those people, to whom it is normal to rape women, Kerry said, noting that nations must be strengthened and join forces against Syrian terrorists.
