The Norwegian Ministry of Justice has received a formal extradition request on Mullah Krekar and a co-indicted from Italian authorities, NRK reported.
It’s preliminary unclear when it might happen.
Both are prepared for prolonged detention Friday indicted for terrorist planning.
– We will request that the two are in custody for four weeks, said police attorney Signe Aalling from the Police Security Service (PST) to NRK.
Krekar or Najmuddin Faraj Ahmad as his real name is, is already in a Norwegian prison for threats.
The Italians believe Mullah Krekar is the leader of the terrorist network Rawti SHAX. Krekar himself rejects this.
