In the parking lot of an unoccupied police station in Bremen six police cars were burned in the night to Tuesday. The damage amounts to 350,000 euros, the criminal investigation for arson. At 23:45 clock had a car driver noticed the fire and alerted the authorities. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, but on the cars created a total loss. The flames spread over on the back of the building. The wing of the district may temporarily no longer be used.
The police cars were members of the Special use of riot police. The investigators of the Criminal Investigation Department at the scene have found traces which suggest a deliberate arson. “This was a completely unnecessary act that not only has an impact on the police,” said Police Commissioner Lutz Müller.
